Tommy at Subway in April 2008

My love for sandwiches began in Olympia, Washington. At 15, I started my first real job as a Subway Sandwich Artist and I loved it. Soon after, I was the manager of three locations. I learned all the ins and out of running a sandwich shop, and a lot about life, growing up at Subway.

Since then, sandwiches have been a trusty companion — from school lunches  and work breaks, to picnics and road trips. Sandwiches are the perfect sidekick for all of life's adventures.

In London, there are grab-and-go sandwiches everywhere. There are some amazing gourmet options too. But, there's nothing quite like the sandwiches back home: a big sub, on Dutch Crunch bread, with lots of fresh meat and veggies, extra sauce and a dill pickle on the side.

Tommy's is my way of charting my own path, adding texture to peoples lives and sharing a little bit of home with the world.

I hope you enjoy it.

Love,

Tom Ady

I started Tommy's because I got laid off. Twice.

After the second time, I decided that it was time to get out from behind the desk, take a risk and do something that pumped me up.

The idea for Tommy's had been swirling around in my head for a few months, first as a joke. Then, when I suddenly had free time on my hands, I decided to explore sandwiches seriously.

But why sandwiches? 🤔
